5 ways to prevent getting sick

#1 - Wash your hands - yes, you've heard this before, but are you washing your hand correctly? Correctly means scrubbing them thoroughly for at least 20 seconds. This will not only kill the germs but keep them away from any other parts of your body.

#2 - Get outdoors - winter season usually means more time spent inside where more germs gather, like in the gym. Instead, go outside and walk. In addition to avoiding gym germs, you'll be getting more vitamin D from the sun which will boost your immune system.

#3 - Eat healthy - this means avoiding processed foods, foods laden with fat and sugar, and overeating. Instead, eat plenty of nuts, lean meat, seafood, whole grain breads, avocados, and eggs for protein. And don't skip breakfast!

#4 - Keep your hands away from your face - hands easily pick up germs which can end up inside your body by touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. So wash your hands often and keep them away from your face.

#5 - Get plenty of sleep - don't sacrifice sleep, especially during the winter. Lack of sleep can make you more susceptible to illnesses.
