No one enjoys hearing their stomach growl and moan when they are hungry. In addition to the noise and discomfort, there are certain activities you should think twice about doing when you have an empty stomach or the results may not turn out the way you want.

What NOT to do when you are hungry

#1 - Go shopping: A recent study showed that people who shop when they are hungry spend 64 percent more money than those who were less hungry. This doesn't just include shopping for food. Researchers in the study examined the receipts for 81 people leaving a department store and discovered they spent more than less hungry people.

#2 - Work out: Don't work out on an empty stomach. Why? You can lose more muscle mass by working out when you are hungry. Contrary to popular belief, you do not burn more calories by working out on an empty stomach.

#3 - Argue: An empty stomach will lower your blood sugar and weaken your self control. This tends to make you more irritable and prone to bickering than you would on a full tummy. One anger researcher explains that it takes a lot of fuel to gain self control. No fuel, no self control.
