There's nothing like a good shower in the morning to make you feel fresh and clean and ready to start the day. Most people don't think anything about a right or wrong way to shower. But there are some things you should never do in the shower. Here are just a few.
- Using the wrong soap - showering every day can dry out your skin. Be sure to use soap or shower gel that contains moisturizers.
- Taking hot showers - hot showers can also dry out your skin. If you must have a hot shower, don't stay in too long. Hot water strips your skin of natural oils.
- Mistreating your hair - hair can also dry out with daily showers. First, don't scrub your scalp with your fingernails, and always use a conditioner. Treat your hair kindly and gently in the shower to avoid dry itchy scalp and split ends on your hair.
- Mistreating your skin - wanting to be clean doesn't mean you have to scrub your skin. Like your hair, be gentle to your skin and use a soft cloth or loofah.
- Not applying moisturizer - right after your shower is the best time to apply moisturizer, while the skin is still damp. That's when the moisturizer will really soak into the skin.
