Help! Ants Are Taking Over My House -- 5 Ways You Can Get Rid of Ants, Roaches and Other Unwelcome Insects

At some point, everyone has a problem with pesky ants getting into the house -- and everything in it! Now, you can hire an exterminator, but that costs money. Did you know there are ways you can treat them yourself?

There is no need to spend a lot of money on exterminators. You can get rid of ants by using these 5 common household products:
  1. Chalk - contains calcium carbonate which ants do not like. Literally draw a line in chalk outside your entry doors, and use ground chalk around your plants to keep ants away.
  2. Lemon juice - this is something most people have in their refrigerators. Squirt lemon juice around your window sills and in cracks and crevices where they might be getting in.
  3. Cayenne pepper - too spicy for ants! Sprinkle it along your baseboards and at the back of your counter tops, or pour it down an ant hill. Bye bye ants!
  4. Salt - another common household ingredient can be used outside your entry doors to keep them away.
  5. Vinegar - mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray directly on anthills and wherever else you see ants. Keep it handy for repeated use.
